06 | FORENSIC ARCHITECTURE
Despite thorough quality assurance protocols, intermittently issues and disagreements between project parties do occur, and when such issues arise, we advise the end users through our forensic architectural studio. A litigious society dictates the creation of mechanisms to address perceived wrongs. Our forensic architecture studio is a leader in the field of applying architectural disciplines to questions of civil and criminal law, particularly in civil court proceedings as they relate to the architectonic process. We are engaged by attorneys, end-users, architects and contractors to ascertain the foundations of conflict during the design-build process and assist in determining whether those issues rise to the level of litigation, whether the issues arise because of contractual breaches or building system failures. A fact-finding discipline, we examine the development of a project from conception to the point of contention including:
- extensive review of project documentation
- preparation of exhibit documentation
- videography
- 3D renderings and digital photography
- assisting attorneys in developing causes of action or responses to causes of action
- assisting in the preparation of and response to interrogatories and depositions
- assisting forensic accountants in recreating the expenditures related to project funding.
Cases that proceed to arbitration or litigation extend the studio’s services to provide expert witness testimony relative to the causes of action identified.
